ABEC’s News

We are in constant contact with the insurance company regarding our negotiation. Our file is in their Legal Department. Recently we had unfortunate injury to one of our Lady Colleague on her warehouse job. She was not treated by her employer according to the labor law in Ontario. So I would like to bring to the attention of every one of you, if somebody is injured on the work place, has to look immediately for medical help and report the injury to the "Workplace Safety & Insurance Board". Read carefully the web site is www.wsib.on.ca, and be aware- Your Health and Safety Rights and Responsibilities.

WORKERS

In case of injury or illness you should:

1. Get proper medical treatment

Go to the nearest first aid station immediately and notify a staff member trained in first aid. An accurate record should be kept of the treatment you receive.

If your injury or illness is serious (or you are not sure how serious it is) go to a doctor or hospital. Your employer is responsible for providing transport to medical treatment and may have to call an ambulance or assign someone to accompany you.

2. Report the incident to your employer

Your employer or supervisor needs to know about your injury or illness to provide help, fulfill their employer responsibilities under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and take measures to prevent further incidents. Report the incident to your supervisor immediately.

We are also approaching the Bulgarian Communities of Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver for organizing Branches or Engineering Groups as part of the Respectful Communities and our Association. Our Logo is going to be published very shortly. As you see on the home page, we have direct information link with Autodesk and The Electricity Forum. We are welcoming new Members.

Best Regards to all ABEC’s Members,
