MECHANICAL LAYOUT DESIGNERS
Hatch is looking to fill immediate vacancies
for Mechanical Layout Designers in the Mississauga office, some travel can be
expected.
Primary responsibilities will include
but not be limited to:
• Working with multi-discipline teams to
develop optimum equipment layouts in accordance with client's and other
established standards.
• Developing and checking 3D models in an
integrated CAD environment.
• Preparing, updating and checking
mechanical deliverables including: General arrangement drawings, detail
drawings, and design sketches in accordance with established quality
procedures.
• Developing, designing and checking
fabricated mechanical equipment for various industrial processes.
Qualifications:
• Successful candidates will be technical
college graduates, or have equivalent knowledge and experience in good academic
standing.
• Candidates must be experienced using 3D
CAD software Bentley PlantSpace and/or 3D MicroStation.
• Experience in mining and metallurgical
processing facilities, material handling systems, chute, plate, launders,
samplers and conveyors is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office is an asset.

ELECTRICAL DESIGNERS
Hatch has several openings in its Mining and
Metals and Energy businesses for senior mechanical designers. You will
participate in a number of Brownfield and Greenfield projects for both front
end planning studies and detailed engineering phases of multidisciplinary
projects. Some of the openings include lead designers.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Design and drafting of electrical systems
including cable trays, MCC layouts, motor schematics, single line drawings,
lighting and small power distribution drawings
• Drawing mark-ups and checking, technical
queries, as-built and detail documentation for electrical systems, LV, MV and
HV power systems, motor circuits, small power and lighting.
• Updating electrical drawings, equipment
and load lists
• Participate in formal engineering review
processes.
• 3D CAD design and modeling of electrical
rooms and cable tray systems, including extraction of Material Take-Offs
• Coordination and mentorship of junior
design staff
Qualifications:
• Completion of a two- to three-year
college program in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related
field
• 5 years' experience in Electrical Design
Drafting in mining and metals, energy, or other heavy industry.
• Competency in the preparation of
electrical single line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, cable schedules and general
arrangement drawings, including switch rooms and substations, etc
• Proficiency utilizing 2D and 3D software.
• Sound knowledge of international
electrical IEC codes and standards

CIVIL DESIGNERS
Hatch has several openings in its Mining and
Metals and Energy businesses for senior civil designers across Canada. You will
participate in a number of Brownfield and Greenfield projects for both front
end planning studies and detailed engineering phases of multidisciplinary
projects. Some of the openings include lead designers.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Design layouts, producing drawings
according to client requirements and relevant codes, standards and procedures
• Produce detailed engineering deliverables
for civil related projects including road design, earthworks, drainage, and
buried services
• Mentor junior staff
Qualifications:
• Completion of a two- to three-year
college program in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related
field
• 5 years' experience with an emphasis on
mining and metals or energy and/or industrial projects
• Experience with 3D CADD software such as
InRoads, Civil 3D/LDD would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated capability as Lead Designer
on previous projects will be an asset.
• Experience with projects related to
earthworks, roads, buried services and drainage considered an asset.
